Kick off the season with a spotlight on freestyle! This one day camp is all about giving participants a taste of freestyle and creating the confidence to explore the world of freestyle terrain from sculpted jumps, rails and boxes to natural features all over the mountain.
The group will be split into students wanting to get their first exposure to freestyle and individuals looking for more intermediate coaching.
Coaches will focus on building freestyle skills with campers using an “Outside-In” approach, working on skills and movements in comfortable, low consequence environments, and then taking those skills to the park and features they are working toward. Campers will gain a better understanding of park etiquette and how to use different features appropriately, but with creativity and fun being the central theme. Campers will have the opportunity to opt in on the challenges that are within their comfort zone throughout the session. While the goal is to challenge everyone and build new skills, doing so at a pace that works for each individual is a huge part of our approach
Camp will run from 12pm-3pm for snowboarders and skiers age 10-15 years. Snowboarders should be able to comfortably link heel and toe side S-turns, on blue to black runs. Skiers should be comfortable making mostly parallel turns on blue to black runs. Groups will be available for beginner and intermediate skiers and riders. Discounted lift tickets are available for camp participants. Please contact the Snowsports School at skischool@ski49n.com with questions.
